Generally, though, because I only buy items that I use, even when other items are on sale, I'll buy all 5 for $5.00 to save money later on the items I use frequently. I know if they have a 2 for $3 special, they won't allow you to buy 1 for $1.50. As for grocery stores, I have yet to see a deal where they wouldn't honor the price for single items.
