Hiding The Loan Money: Should I Close HSBC Direct or No?

Finally, I collected my student loan refund check today. Even thought my tuition is totally covered now, I have to prevent myself from spending this check like it is money that I earned. This is money I cannot touch.

I have to hide it somewhere nice. I’m aware than I can add sub-accounts to my ING Direct Savings account but ING has become my primary savings account now. Being unable to see it is the way I want to go about saving this money for next semester. HSBC Direct would certainly be a place in which I can forget about the money.

Since I still have my HSBC Direct account open, I can put it there and make a little more interest than ING Direct. Or, I can close it up since I want to focus on the ING account. I’m leaning towards just keeping the HSBC Direct account open since it won’t hurt me in any way but it’ll actually give me more options if the economy decides to turn for the better.
